Time for another guest blogger! Cloclo.be is a Belgian blog on all things design, interior and creativity, founded by the sparkling Anne-Catherine. "Design? Interior? No travel?!" Not quite, but what I really want to do here is inspire you to make the most of your free time and to help you find those things that spark your interests! If you're a design fanatic: Anne-Catherine has a bunch of tips for you. Want to stay up to date on the latest pop up stores, hip events, the latest cool design kid on the block? Introducing: Cloclo.be!
Can you describe yourself?
My name is Anne-Catherine, a 26-year-old interior & design addict. I have always been passionate about creative things and appreciate the art of interior. I’m outgoing and love to spread positive energy in the world!
What do you blog about? Why do you blog?
I like writing about interior, design and everything that touches creativity in a meaningful way. As a result, I hope to inspire others through my passion. Writing helps me share my knowledge, ideas and experiences. With so much information available these days, I try to chip in my part for all people that share the same interests as me.
Interior comes in all shapes and sizes. This is why it intertwines with cultural and foreign influences. A nice example is my next blog post about a trendy concept store in Vietnam – stay tuned!
What makes your blog unique?
My blog is a personal diary, which I started as an output to capture everything I see. I noticed there was an opportunity to set something ‘ground-breaking’ as there are only a handful of interior-bloggers in Flanders. That’s why I took my chances and decided to give it a fresher twist.
Who are your readers?
All interior design lovers, creative yuppies and curious people who love either taking a peek in the famous house next door or either looking at my interior stylings!
What does travel mean to you?
I’m passionate about learning new things in life. My opinion on learning itself is that it enriches life experience. This could be through meeting different people, eating good food, chasing crazy adventures and absorbing new cultures.
Where are you right now?
I am currently residing and exploring the local places-to-be in Antwerp, but I’m already dreaming about our next big trip. Next possible hits on our list are Cuba, South Africa and Cambodia. Aside from the long trips, we will be making a short trip to Mellau (Austria) in the month of April.
What was your most memorable trip?
Without any doubt Sapa (Vietnam)! This beautiful place has so much to offer: local culture, good food and most of all the beautiful nature! Did I mention the cheap relaxation places? ;)
And of course, I have to ask: what are your hotspots in Antwerp or abroad?
- Coffee: st. vincents
A unique concept store where you can drink the very best THE BARN coffee and buy lots of beautiful goodies.
- Lunch: Mirlo’s
This place has truly become my second home. I love the relaxed atmosphere and the delicious breakfast & lunch!
- Interior: Espoo & Espoo Bütik
My favorite interior design shops in Antwerp for everything concerning furniture, lighting & accessories.
- Fashion: Nathalie Vleeschouwer
Supporting Belgian brands is very important and this label should de-fi-ni-te-ly be supported by everybody!
- Work: Plastron
If you are looking for a place where you can work and be inspired at once: this is your destination without a doubt.
HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM:
Undoubtedly the most trendy place I’ve seen in the whole of Vietnam. This concept store has the best brands for fashion & design lovers. The food is both good and healthy and the French-Vietnamese setting is stupendous!
Where can people find you?
And of course www.cloclo.be
Anne-Catherine recently visited Vietnam and posted A LOT of pictures on her Instagram account. Heading that direction (sorta) in a month, can't wait!!
